Workspace Layout

It will make the learning curve easier for you if you can lay your workspace out the same as illustrated in the following illustrations. Once you are familiar with the software and how it works, feel free to modify to your liking. If we are looking at and talking about the same things, it will just make it that much easier.

Open your Paint Shop Pro. If you are not using PSP9 it may be configured a bit different but get it as close as possible and we will work our way through it. | |

Following is a screen shot of what should appear with no image loaded. Your monitor should have the same appearance if you've loaded the default workspace. (See Fig. 2.1) Highlighted in red are the essential elements listed below. |

The essential elements being displayed are; Take some liberties with your program and familiarize yourself with how you can move these elements around the screen, reduce them, make them full screen ... it may come in handy if you want to lay it out slightly different at some point. lt+S> to save the workspace layout as your default setting. |
the Toolbar on the left,
the Materials palette <F6> on the right.
the Overview palette <F9> on the right.
and the Layers palette <F8> on the right.
If the "function commands" do not work, they are listed under the <View>, <Toolbars>, <Tools> or <Palettes> pull down menus.
